Manufacturing Engineering Technician

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to provide technical support to manufacturing and to develop, improve, and document our manufacturing processes. We are open to all levels of experience. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical expertise in the setup, manufacturing, and testing of components, assemblies, and finished products.
  • Help improve production performance by reducing costs and improving productivity utilizing lean tools such as standard work, visual management, and 5S.
  • Use CAD software to make minor modifications to drawings and design test fixtures.
  • Work with engineering to build and test prototypes.
  • Maintain manufacturing tools and equipment.
  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions and inspection plans.
  • Program PLCs and HMIs.
  • Inspect and test completed assemblies.
  • Maintain equipment calibrations.
  • Help train shop floor employees.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and help achieve safety metrics.
  • Support organizational goals, adhere to rules, regulations, processes, and procedures.

Qualified candidates will have a 2-year technical degree or 3+ years related electro-mechanical manufacturing experience and have the following skills and knowledge.

  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Able to program, operate, and repair production equipment.
  • Able to read engineering drawings, including electrical schematics.
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing and cellular manufacturing.
  • Able to use electronic test equipment.
  • Good troubleshooting and investigation skills.
  • Proficient with computers and able to learn new software.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Understanding of quality standards.

Desired skills and knowledge:

  • Familiar with sheet metal fabrication.
  • CAD modeling and drafting using SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD.
